Community Housing Workshop

Community Housing Workshop

Representative Marty Long has scheduled an Affordable Housing Workshop for June 7 in Ulysses. Rural communities have access to financial and technical resources to assist with developing multi family and single family housing. Communities in southwest Kansas have opportunities for growth from dairy and other agriculture development. With job growth comes the need for housing development so these new workers have a place to live.

Who should attend?

City & county officials, economic development professionals, housing developers & contractors, local volunteers who care about growth in their community.

What will you learn?

Learn how Kansas Department of Commerce (KDOC) programs can assist your community with completing a Housing Assessment Tool (HAT), applying for a Rural Housing Incentive District (RHID), and understanding what type of housing is needed for your community. KDOC programs can assist with your localized plan that supports housing financing.

Learn how Kansas Housing Resources Corporation (KHRC) can provide financial support for infrastructure and housing units for developers and local government. KHRC programs for low and moderate income housing have helped communities in Kansas expand housing.
